Hey there! I'm Riga Sutherland, the owner, designer, and artist behind Blooming Intention. Crafting has always been a deep passion of mine, something I got from my mom. She introduced me to crochet when I was little, and her beautiful, intricate cross stitch pieces were framed all over our childhood home. Over the years, I explored various crafts like crochet, amigurumi, garment sewing and quilting, but when I discovered modern cross stitch, something clicked. I fell in love with it because it is simple, like pixel art, each tiny stitch coming together, one by one, to form something beautiful. I love the slow, intentional process of watching an image emerge with every stitch.
At the same time, I was on a journey of personal growth, learning how powerful our thoughts are in shaping our reality. Reading Rewired by Nicole Vignola was a game-changer, deepening my understanding of how our subconscious mind absorbs information and influences our beliefs. It made me realize the importance of feeding ourselves positive thoughts, replacing limiting beliefs with empowering affirmations. This is why I created Blooming Intention, to combine the mindful, meditative act of stitching with the power of affirmations.
